Bright Star Occupational Therapy

Welcome to Bright Star OT, where we specialize in school-based occupational therapy designed especially for meeting the individual needs of student’s within their school environment. Our focus is on helping children grow and learn while working to improve developmentally appropriate skills. We aim to help increase independence and confidence of all student’s we interact with in order to engage more successfully in the school environment. At Bright Star OT, our goal is simple: to empower children to thrive by developing the skills and creating an environment they need to fully participate in daily activities at home, school, and within their community.

Our dedicated team at Bright Star Occupational Therapy is here to help. Together with the school’s team, we'll work towards unlocking your child's full potential, ensuring they shine bright in every aspect of their lives.

Developmental delays

Children who are not meeting developmental milestones in areas such as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care skills may benefit from occupational therapy.

Physical disabilities

Children with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, or muscular dystrophy may need occupational therapy to help them learn adaptive strategies and develop strength and coordination.

Sensory processing disorders

Some children have difficulty processing sensory information, which can affect their ability to participate in everyday activities. Occupational therapists can help children with sensory processing disorders learn to regulate their responses to sensory input and improve their ability to function in various environments.

Learning disabilities

Children with learning disabilities such as dyslexia or ADHD may struggle with tasks such as handwriting, organization, and time management. Occupational therapy can provide strategies to help these children improve their academic performance and succeed in school.

Autism spectrum disorders

Children with autism often have difficulty with social skills, communication, and sensory processing. Occupational therapists can work with these children to develop social skills, improve communication abilities, and address sensory sensitivities.

At Bright Star OT, we specialize in school-based occupational therapy by incorporating therapeutic activities, exercise, play-based interventions and use of adaptive equipment and modifications. Our skilled therapists provide personalized one-on-one, group and consultation services while adapting to each child's unique needs and goals. Our ultimate aim is to empower children to develop the necessary skills for full participation in their academic environment, fostering their overall development and well-being.
